Our bookstore cat Alice

Alice is known far and wide as our official greeter and resident bookstore cat.  She came to us in 2011 as the mother of the first litter when we started our cat adoption program with the Allegany Animal Shelter.  Alice adopted us after all her babies found homes and has been our boss ever since.

Cat Adoptions

In 2011, we became an off-site adoption center for the Allegany County Animal Shelter, specifically for kittens.  In 2018, we began partnering with local rescues as well.  Since starting our program, we have helped find homes for hundreds of cats.  Come on down to the store... we'd be happy to help you find your "furever" feline family member!

Come Visit

You're always welcome to visit and say hello to the cats while they're waiting for their new homes.

During the winter months we don't have cats up for adoption, however Alice is available year round!

Adoption fees cover the costs of spaying or neutering and a rabies shot.

Please note, we only accept cats from the shelter or rescues we work with.

If you have found cats, please take them to the Allegany County Animal Shelter.
